What will you do and where will you go in Hanoi if you have mere FIVE rushing hours? Let’s experience the fasting life in Hanoi for once!
1 hour: To Have Street-Breakfast and Coffee in the Old Quarters
Banh mi and coffee combo
An hour to try Hanoi Old Quarters specialty combo is not at all wasted. Although the modernization has greatly affected Hanoian’s lifestyle, the locals here never miss their chance to fully enjoy the street breakfast. A “bánh mì” and a cup of “cà phê sữa đá” in the morning are always worth waiting for.
1 hour: To Visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple
Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple - The witness of time
Resided in the center pace of Hanoi, amongst the frenetic modern streets, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple sleeps tightly and quietly in their lone island. Behind these duo destination lies a rustic layer of history, where legends conquer the historical events. To sit back and enjoy the view from Hoan Kiem Lake or enter the sacred space of Ngoc Son Temple might be one of the greatest moments of those who crave for a knowledge journey.
2 Hours: To Shop at the Handicraft Villages
From generations, the Vietnamese artisans have consistently been preserving their tradition of creating crafts from natural resources. In Hanoi, there are still various handicraft villages that own distinctive specialties. An authentic handmade ceramic pendant piece or a colorful flowing scarf might be an enchanted souvenir for friends and family after visiting the capital land.

1 hour: To Wander around West Lake (and Have a Beer)
West Lake for your Refreshing Mind
West Lake is the largest lake in Hanoi up until today. In comparison to the legendary Hoan Kiem Lake, the West Lake seems belittled in historical entry. However, it is the largest lake in Hanoi since ever. The location involves daily activities of locals due to the fact that it surrounds 2/3 acreage of Tay Ho District and beholds the village culture of Yen Phu citizens. If boozing in Ta Hien Street (the Old Quarters) is too mainstream, try West Lake. The place will not fail your expectations as it provides the beloved visitors with most refreshing and relieving states of mind.
